Starting a blog is an exercise in commitment. You carve out a corner of the internet and declare, with some small amount of courage, that your thoughts are worth the bandwidth.

Why now?

I’ve been building software for a while. Long enough to have opinions, make mistakes, change my mind, and occasionally figure something out that feels worth sharing. But I’ve also been doing a lot more than writing code - leading teams, starting projects, becoming a father, figuring out how to perform at my best while life gets more complex. Before any of that, I played football for eleven years growing up - long enough to learn what commitment actually means.

Writing is how I test whether I actually understand something. If I can’t explain it clearly, I probably don’t understand it as well as I thought.

This space is for that kind of thinking. Engineering, yes - but also process, leadership, building products, generative AI, and whatever else I’m learning along the way. I’m not limiting myself to one lane.

What to expect?

Mainly short, focused posts. No hot takes for the sake of engagement. When I have something worth saying, I’ll say it here.
